One of my favourite creatures from my childhood are fairies. I always felt they exist and often had dreams about flying and meeting them...I still would love to do that! Well no fairies come to me yet, so I made myself a fairy polymer clay pictures instead...I like how they turned out, especially the second one as is more delicate. I think I will keep one of them for my daughters' room as they keep complaining I am only making things for others;)...

Brooches. Woodland Little Creatures. Series I
Did I mentioned already that I love brooches? Well, let me say that once more. I really do. As I was working with my bird pendants I came to a conclusion that a face within a bird it is just too much. Although it has a personal meaning for me, it is just too much to take on, especially with strings and beads and so. It works well as a window decoration or something to hang around the kitchen, or a door, but not necessarily as a pendant. Anyway, as I had a few faces made already, I came with an idea to use them in a different way. I made a limited (?) collection of woodlands brooches.
So here they are. I fell in love with them from the first sight, didn't you?

After some sanding and a bit of paint my work was done. Here are the first three. A Raccoon, An Owl and A Hare. I am just not sure if I wll stop after those six as I already have ideas for more.....
A back of The Hare...
And a back of The Raccoon..
While I was busy painting my brooches...Matylda and Liliana were busy painting theirs...I am so exited that my two little girls are finally big enough to just simply play and paint alongside me with concentration and joy on their little faces. We had such a great evening together.

I need a new camera!
Ahhh well...I think my camera is broken. This is a bad news for me but in the same way it was already on my list of things I need to buy soon. I just wasn't expecting to have to buy one so soon tho ;)).
It was fine one day and the next weird streaks started to appear on the screen when focus button is pressed. We where at the park and we took some photographs, but Liliana took some at home without my knowledge (she isn't allowed to take camera)...and from that point the streaks appear...
I found this on the SD card
This is really lovely picture :) But you can spot those streaks quite easily...anyway, I look through the photographs she has taken to check it out.The first one is fine, the second one she looks at the camera herself, but stands against the sun and the streaks are there. I think she pressed the focus buton too long or something. I just don't know what happened really.

Out and About
It was quite sunny last week here. I tried to go out with Liliana and Matylda as much as possible, enjoyed the sun and a bit of our long lost summer. I am always amazed with children's admiration of the world. Even the tiniest of all insects can be in the center of the their attention.
I try to learn from them how to admire the nature around me despite of the gray shades of every day life.
It was a lot easier when I was a teenager without much of the responsibilietes of the adoulthood.
I can still stare for hours at the sky and the passing clouds. I still have a smile on my face when I run through the field without my shoes on, when I try to feel the softeness of the sand on the beach or when I try to do a sandcastle with a flag made from a lolypop stick and a buble gum paper. I am not all lost yet, at least I like to think so :)
I hope you had a lovely week as well!

Onion Soup
My dinner for today:)) I love soups..especially so delicious as this particular one: onion cream soup topped with spring onion...mmmm...I can still smell it, but it is all gone now :( Have you got any favourite ones?
Anyway, we had a very rainy day here in Glasgow! On the lawn just in front of my flat, I have a huge "lake like" pond at the moment, at least my daughter thinks so. She came up with brilliant idea earlier on, to play princess who is trapped in the middle of a huge lake, imprisoned in a tower (there is also a quite big stump..) and I am suppose to be her Prince Charming coming to the rescue, and Matylda should be my horse! This is so inspiring and creative. I had an idea myself as well, to create paper boats and let them sail through this huge "sea"..hope this "pond thing" will last until tomorrow to try this out:) Have a nice evening!

Liliana Birthday!
I managed to finish the necklace on time! Hooray! This is actually my very first completed piece of work except magnets I did last year. It turned out to be better than I thought it would be so I am very pleased and Liliana looks beautifull wearning it.
I had some troubles with the sizes of my components but fortunately I had enough small beads to finish everything nicely and even make a bracelet to go with the necklace :)
